The case against Obama: Part II

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Mention the word Abortion and you are sure to elicit a strong response from most people.  Many (including me) equate abortion with murder.  Others simply view it a choice - like deciding what clothes to wear.  On the topic of abortion it is difficult to find consensous.

However, there is one thing that most people would agree on: killing a living, breathing new born baby is wrong. NOT Barack Obama!  As an Illinois State Senator, Obama voted AGAINST the Illinois' version of the federal Born Alive Infant Protection Act.  The Illinois act of 2002 was Induced Infant Liability Act.  At the federal level, the bill passed unanimously in the Senate and had only 15 no votes in the House.

Basically both laws proscribe medical treatment for infants born alive after botched abortions just as a 'wanted' infant born prematurely would receive.  Even NARAL – the pro choice group – did not apposed this legislation.

Obama voted against the legislation in committe and then killed it in when it came before a committee he chaired.  Committee testimony included details about babies being set aside and left to die, rather than be provided life saving medical treatment.  Yet, Obama didn't seem to care.

In the US Senate, Obama voted against a bill that would bar someone from transporting a minor across state lines for the prupose of obtaining an abortion.

While in the US Senate he has received a 100% ranking from NARAL and a 0% ranking from NRLC.

Yes. Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid.
