Brazil Mission Trip

My mission trip to Brazil is now just over 3 months away.

Mundurucu Indian NationWe now have the details of exactly where in the Amazon River Basin we are going.  We are headed to the Mundurucu Indian Nation on the CANUMÃ RIVER.

Information from the mission organizer: To get there we will fly into Manaus and then board of boat (and residence for the next 12 days) for a 32+ hour ride to the first village.

The Mundurucu Nation is made up of 26 clans, each living in their own village.  The Mundurucu practiced head-hunting and slavery up until the mid-1940s.

The nation has been closed to new evangelical work for over 10 years now.  They became angry that the different denominations would come in pointing fingers at each other.  We are among the few that have access.

BrazilWe will be going to 3 new villages that have been closed to the white man until now. We will also make a stop in the capital city of Kuata to meet with the Grand Chief of the Nation.

The mission trip is organized by AMOR – Amazon Mission Organization.  "AMOR is a mission organization dedicated to meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the people of the Amazon Valley of Brazil.  Many of the people of the Amazon Valley have never seen a dentist, optometrist, or medical doctor.  Yet their aches and pains come as frequently, if not more so, than ours."

We are all excited about our coming trip.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit- fruit that will last. John 15:16
