What is wrong with the world today?
The headline to article in the New York Times (here) on 7 Nov 2006 was “New York Plans to Make Gender Personal Choice.”
I didn’t know New York could do that. Apparently, if you want to act like a person of the opposite sex, New York is considering letting you change your birth certificate. This is absolutely absurd! The birth certificate is a record of the facts at your birth, not your state of mind when you are an adult.
I know that some people claim that they have ‘transgender indentity’ issues. But you are what you are, no matter what you may think you are.
The article states: “It is an outgrowth of the transgender community’s push to recognize that some people may not have money to get a sex-change operation…” Again, absurd. Even if you have a surgery, you are what you are.
